From brainstorming to final polish, Kerry asks the right questions until a student lands on the detail that makes an essay theirs — the same approach she brings to all her writing and literacy tutoring.
A college essay is a small piece of writing with an outsized job: to show an admissions reader how a student thinks. Kerry draws on thirty-three years as an English Language Arts educator and literacy coach to help students move past the blank page, structure a real argument, and revise toward their own voice. Students learn to start before they feel ready, to trust their instincts, and to revise with care.
Because the essay is personal, the work is personal. Sessions are one-on-one by video, so the student is the focus. There are no rigid packages or minimums — just the right level of support for each draft. Many students pair college essay coaching with SAT and PSAT tutoring or ISEE and SSAT preparation, since the close-reading and writing habits carry across.
The hourly rate for college essay coaching is $150 per hour. A brief initial consultation is included at no cost to discuss goals and fit, and Kerry personally reviews every inquiry and responds within one to two business days.
